The article examines the specifics of the relationship between social and emotional intelligence and the level of stress resistance of rescuers in teamwork.

Today the profession of lifeguard is among the riskiest in the absolute majority of countries. stress, associated with physical and neuro-psychological stress, unfavorable working conditions, anxious waiting regime, the influence of destabilizing factors on the psyche, puts quite high demands on specialists in this field. their activity can take place in a team or individual form, but stressogenicity does not exclude it, but, on the contrary, strengthens it. in general, during team work, each member of the team must clearly know their duties, fulfill them and, at the same time, be responsible for certain actions. actually, in teamwork, the ability to recognize emotions and manage them becomes most relevant, as these skills enable easier and faster adaptation in society, highly effective professional performance of assigned tasks, and competent management of stressful situations.

Possessing the culture of emotional intelligence ensures rational decision-making by a specialist, constructive and high-quality performance of tasks in particularly dangerous situations.

An important role is played by the level of social intelligence among employees who are involved in the team, since the ability to interact with others, to establish constructive relationships, undoubtedly affects the ability of an individual to withstand stress.

The obtained results indicate that mainly the development of social intelligence is the basis of teamwork, allows you to adequately understand others, mental properties. Teamwork is characterized by awareness of common goals, a high level of responsibility, and support of each other's efforts.

A training program has been drawn up and tested, aimed at developing the structural elements of social and emotional intelligence for those employees of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine whose indicators are low and can have a destructive effect on the quality of professional performance and resistance to stress. A positive trend in development was noted components of social and emotional intelligence as a result of the training.
