Extreme psychologists of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine play a key role in supporting the mental health of both rescuers and the civilian population affected by various emergencies. Their activities, especially in wartime, are accompanied by a high level of mental strain, stress and psychophysical tension, which, in turn, creates the prerequisites for the development of emotional burnout and exhaustion.
In modern conditions of military conflict, psychologists of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine work in situations where uncertainty is constantly present, limited time for decision-making and increased responsibility for the results of their activities. This significantly increases the risk of the occurrence and development of emotional burnout, which can negatively affect both directly the specialists and the quality of psychological assistance they provide. This article contains data on the analysis of factors contributing to the development of this syndrome among psychologists of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, as well as information on the study of possible methods of prevention and overcoming emotional exhaustion. Special attention is paid to the influence of specific wartime conditions on the psycho-emotional stability of psychologists in the performance of their professional duties. In addition, approaches to preventing emotional burnout are considered, including psychotherapeutic methods, self-help techniques and special trainings that preserve the mental health of these specialists in difficult wartime conditions.
This article emphasizes the importance of in-depth study of the topic of burnout among psychologists of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine working in wartime; attention is focused on the need to develop and implement effective prevention methods to maintain psycho-emotional stability and ensure the proper level of professional effectiveness of extreme psychologists.
