The article addresses the pressing issue of career self-determination among future employees of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) in the context of their level of achievement motivation. The importance of intrinsic motivation is emphasized as a key factor in the formation of professional identity, success orientation, readiness for professional development, and effectiveness in high-risk environments.

An individual's success on the path to professional self-determination, their ability to flexibly adapt to changing conditions in the professional environment, and their perseverance in achieving career goals largely depend on the level of intrinsic motivation, particularly achievement motivation. Different levels of achievement motivation result in significant differences in the perception of work, formation of career expectations, level of professional ambition, and degree of readiness for continuous professional development and self-improvement.

The results of the conducted research clearly indicate that respondents with a high level of achievement motivation demonstrate more developed career intuition, a deep sense of engagement in professional activity, a high level of professional resilience, and perseverance in overcoming challenges. They are also characterized by strong intrinsic motivational sources, such as the internalization of professional goals, a strong drive for personal and professional self-realization, and a need for social recognition of their achievements. In contrast, research participants with a low level of achievement motivation show less professional activity, weakly expressed professional orientation, and insufficient internal focus on achieving significant results in their professional field.

Based on the obtained data, an important conclusion was drawn regarding the decisive role of the motivational factor in the successful formation of an individual career strategy. The research findings have significant practical value for developing effective psychological support programs for personal career development and enhancing the overall effectiveness of the SES’s system for training qualified personnel.
