The article is devoted to the empirical evaluation of the effectiveness of a training program aimed at developing professional well-being among employees of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES). It is argued that the extreme nature of rescuers’ professional activities, the constant influence of stress factors, and the high demands on psycho-emotional stability necessitate scientifically grounded programs to support psychological health and professional functioning.

The training program was based on the development of empirically identified key predictors of professional well-being – psychological capital, autonomous motivation, tolerance for uncertainty, and emotional well-being. It was implemented as a five-day intensive course (30 hours) that combined group work, role-playing exercises, self-reflection, and interventions focused on building self-regulation, stress resilience, and constructive interaction skills.

The study involved 36 rescuers (experimental and control groups of 18 participants each) who underwent pre- and post-testing using K. Ruth’s professional well-being assessment methodology.

The results showed that after completing the training, participants in the experimental group demonstrated statistically significant increases in the indicators «satisfaction with professional achievements», «positive relationships in the team», «professional goals», and the overall index of professional well-being. However, no significant changes were observed in the scales «autonomy in professional activity», «satisfaction with competence level» and «professional growth», which can be explained mainly by external organizational factors and the limited duration of the program.

It is concluded that the proposed training program is an effective tool for enhancing the level of professional well-being among SES employees. The obtained effect size indices, ranging from medium to large, confirm the substantial impact of the training program on the core components of professional well-being.
