The main goal of this study is to identify the features of self-esteem of individuals with different levels of post-traumatic growth. The research was conducted on the basis of respondents who experienced trauma as a result of an emergency situation of military origin.

In the process of work, we used the post-traumatic growth questionnaire (PTGI) by R. Tadeshi and L. Calhoun (adapted by M. Sh. Magomed-Eminov) and the «Rosenberg Self-Evaluation Scale» method (Ukrainian translation of RSES).

After applying the posttraumatic growth questionnaire, we were able to divide our sample of 50 individuals into three groups (low, medium, and high levels of posttraumatic growth, respectively). 54% of respondents have an average level of post-traumatic growth, which indicates positive dynamics in the process of personality recovery after trauma.

At the stage of analyzing the results on separate scales in this questionnaire, we saw an interesting picture. In the «Attitude towards others» scale, 50% of the subjects showed a low level, which indicates their unwillingness to open up to the world and others and unwillingness to rely on the help of others. It should be noted that although a high level of post-traumatic growth is characteristic of 28% of respondents, only 6% of people have high indicators according to the scale «Personality strength».

The processing of the received data using the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale method made it possible to identify three levels of self-esteem, which, in our opinion, is in percentage terms interrelated with the results of the post-traumatic growth questionnaire. This gave us the opportunity to talk about the existence of a dependence of the level of self-esteem on the level of post-traumatic growth.

The next step was the application of univariate analysis of variance to confirm the presence of these differences. Unfortunately, these differences were not found at the mathematical level. But we believe that this may be due to the insufficient number of subjects.

Thus, we came to the conclusion that although at a statistically significant level differences between the self-esteem of individuals with different levels of post-traumatic growth were not found, it still remains a relevant question. Research in this direction will help to confirm the importance of self-esteem as an important factor in post-traumatic growth, which helps a person deal with traumatic experiences and psychologically recover.
