The phenomenon of professional envy and the study of its essence and peculiarities of development among specialists working in special and extreme conditions are currently relevant due to the specificity of the professional activity of personnel in state emergency response structures, which leads to psychological changes in personality and professional functioning.
Modern psychological research in Ukraine and abroad reveals the content of the phenomenon of envy from the standpoint of various theoretical and methodological concepts. This creates a foundation for experimental exploration of the features of professional envy, taking into account contemporary scientific views on its essential characteristics, determinants, and mechanisms of formation and development within organizations characterized by clear structural hierarchy, high demands for professional reliability and efficiency, and a chain of command based on the principle of unity of command.
Furthermore, the research efforts of Ukrainian scholars highlight current theoretical, methodological, and experimental approaches that serve as a basis for defining and adapting modern theoretical and methodological tools in studying the phenomenon of professional envy within the framework of psychology of activity in special conditions.
The study of the characteristics of professional envy provides an opportunity to apply theoretical and methodological generalizations regarding this phenomenon and its interrelations with the individual psychological traits of specialists in extreme-profile occupations, as well as with the social peculiarities of professional activity within the units and organizations of the security and defense sector of Ukraine. These environments are specific in their organization, opportunities for professional and career development, and requirements for professional reliability. This may constitute a foundation for experimental studies aimed at identifying specific psychological indicators and characteristics of these interrelations through the use of modern theoretical approaches and appropriate psychodiagnostic methods.
The presented conclusions and generalizations require further experimental research on the stated topic, including the approbation of proposed approaches to diagnosing professional envy among personnel of the security and defense sector. In the future, the development of theoretical and experimental models of this phenomenon may form a distinct direction of scientific inquiry within the psychology of activity in special and extreme conditions.
