Key words: values, psychological traumatization, military serviceman, service-combat activity, combat experience, values, post-traumatic stress disorder.
According to the results of the research, the features of military values of military personnel participating in combat operations, who have post-traumatic stress reactions, were determined. Military personnel participating in hostilities, who were divided into two groups, took part in the study: military personnel with signs of post-traumatic stress reactions - 61 persons; and military personnel who do not have pronounced post-traumatic stress reactions - 277 people. The age of the research participants is from 20 to 55 years.
It was determined that military values do not allow reliably predicting post-traumatic stress reactions in servicemen participating in hostilities, however, their role in regulating the relationships of servicemen with signs of post-traumatic stress reactions cannot be neglected.
In servicemen who have signs of post-traumatic reaction, there is a pronounced vectoriality in the hierarchy of values from the triad of courage, as an idea of the dignified treatment of a serviceman, to the triad of awareness of one's own lack of strength to carry out countermeasures, one's own unreliability for others. Psychological trauma significantly affected the structure of military values of servicemen, making them an unreliable part of the military team. Thus, their value structure, which should regulate professional activity, reflects their focus on traumatic aspects - for them, the realization of courage is a step beyond the boundaries of ideas about one's own capabilities, and professionalism is associated with overcoming difficulties. They believe that their experience allows them to be guided by their own ideas about the duty to the military team, to act at their discretion.
The absence in the value structure of servicemen with signs of post-traumatic stress reactions, in contrast to servicemen whose mental health is preserved after participating in combat operations, of a factor that allows for appropriate changes, probably also increases the traumatic effect of combat stressors.
